October 14 - Self-Promoting and Personal Branding as an API

For many in the Asian and Pacific Islander communities, we’ve long lived by the saying: keep your head down and work hard. It’s a value rooted in humility — but it can also keep our voices quiet.

In our recent conversation with our Asian Pacific Islander Professional Resource Group (API PRG), we reflected on what’s changing. Together, we learned that self-advocacy isn’t about letting go of our values — it’s about expanding them. When we own our stories, we not only lift ourselves, but also create space for others to be heard.

Thank you to Wieden + Kennedy and Bambuza Hospitality Group for their support!

October 21 - Living Your Mission

Our Women of Color RISING cohort had an evening alive with energy, connection, and reflection as we came together to grow, learn, and lead side by side.

Our session explored what it truly means to live your mission. We gained not just practical tools but heartfelt wisdom — reminders to align our values with our actions, to lead with authenticity, and to stay grounded in purpose.

Thank you to Wieden + Kennedy for their support!

November 5 - Say Hey! at World Forestry Center

What a beautiful evening at the World Forestry Center, where we hosted our last Say Hey! of the year! The event was a beautiful celebration of connection and belonging. Community members, new and old, came together to share food, laughter, and meaningful conversation. The evening was filled the energy that reminds us why community matters, the joy of showing up, the power of being seen, and the strength we build together.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the night unforgettable!

Thank you to our venue sponsor World Forestry Center, co-sponsor Devil's Food Catering, accessibility sponsor Relay Resources, wine sponsor A to Z Wineworks, and beverage sponsor Peak Credit Union for their generous support!

November is Native American Heritage Month. To honor, uplift, and support Native American communities, Partners in Diversity asked JR Lilly (Diné (Navajo)) to share a few thoughts.

I am a citizen of the Diné (Navajo) Nation who was born and raised on the reservation in Arizona. Being part of a Native American tribe means that you have a deep connection to the land as you and your ancestors have walked these areas since time immemorial. One could say that the earth knows our footsteps.

Our monthly Partner Spotlight highlights a member working diligently to foster equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplaces in our region. This month, we showcase Peak Credit Union. Read about them below!

Peak Credit Union. Built for you. Built for belonging.

In the heart of our communities, you'll find the true foundations of our strength. The teachers who inspire our children and the skilled millworkers who craft the very materials that shape our world. These are the founding members of TwinStar and Northwest Community Credit Union. People dedicated to building a brighter future, board by board, lesson by lesson. From sawdust trails to school hallways, from saving for a child’s future to securing a first home, we’re by your side.

Our vision builds upon that foundation to cultivate a profound sense of belonging that resonates throughout our communities, as our membership evolved beyond wood products and teachers. Building community isn’t just a belief — it’s a promise. It's about recognizing the invisible threads that connect us all. When we belong to our community, we empower our members to transform financial stress into the freedom that serves as a building block for their dreams.

A special thank you to our members for their continued commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion:
