Hispanic Heritage Month Through the Lens of Mental Health

Recognizing Hispanic Heritage Month, our Latino Professional Resource Group (PRG) came together for a thoughtful conversation around mental health through a cultural lens. In a supportive space, participants and panelists shared personal stories, reflected on how Latino/Hispanic culture influences mental health, and discussed the importance of breaking the stigma in our communities. Together, we’re creating space for healing, understanding, and cultural pride.

Leading with Cultural Humility

In a time of rapid workplace change, our recent Breakfast for Champions session, “Cultural Humility for Leaders: Communicating Inclusively Amid Organizational Changes” brought together HR professionals and culture leaders to explore how inclusive leadership can build trust and resilience.

Participants learned how leaders can communicate with care and how individual employees can navigate power dynamics and uplift their voices as well as other underrepresented voices.

Attendees left with a better understanding on what it looks like when leaders communicate inclusively during rapidly changing environments and better equipped to engage their own organizational leaders and peers to support workplaces where every employee feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.

At Ride Connection, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) isn't a checklist; it's the way we live our mission. From the beginning, accessibility has been our lens. It's often the quieter part of DEIA, but it's where we've built our greatest strength.

Ride Connection is a vital transportation hub, facilitating over a million rides annually. We serve a diverse range of individuals who are unable to access traditional means of transportation: older adults, people with disabilities, low-income households, and other marginalized neighbors. As a private nonprofit organization, we provide more than just rides. We provide human connection, dignity, and care. We believe that connection is the road to belonging, and belonging is the foundation of a healthy community. Our services have a profound impact on the lives of our community members, fostering a sense of pride and connection within them.

A special thank you to our members for their continued commitment to supporting our mission for an inclusive and thriving Oregon and Southwest Washington:
